A Real Fruit Salad with Tahini
When most people think of fruit salad you think of soft fruit drenched in syrup or browning apple and pear in a bowl on the buffet table - it doesn’t have to be that way!
This fruit salad is a real salad, it even has an amazing dressing with some ingredients you wouldn’t normally think of combining, after this though, you’ll start topping EVERYTHING with it.
We’ve used apple, golden kiwi, and orange in this version for a light spring breakfast and you can just change it up for whatever is in season, this would be amazing with early autumn soft fruit & figs.
1 tbsp Huckleberry Organics tahini (hulled or unhulled; unhulled will be earthier)
1 tsp honey
2 tsp lemon juice
1-2 tsp hot water
2-4 pieces of seasonal fruit
Good combination ideas include:
Apple, orange & gold kiwi (like this one)
Pear, persimmon & mandarin
Strawberry, blueberry & peach
Apricot, plum & fig
Sesame Seeds (Chia seeds would work too or flaked almonds)
This is super easy! In a small bowl or jug combine tahini, honey and lemon juice.
If the dressing is a little thick and lumpy add some hot water to thin out. Start with 1 tsp water and mix well. Ass more if your dressing is still not thin enough to drizzle.
Slice fruit as desired and pop on a plate or in a bowl. Drizzle over your dressing and enjoy!
This serves one for a generous breakfast but could serve two for a small side to some avo toast ;)
